About Alpaca Angel Acres
History of Our South Colorado Alpaca Farm and Inn
It was instant love of the alpaca for Laurie Kennon after seeing an Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) commercial on television. Laurie began learning all she could about these amazing animals. After visiting several alpaca farms and just being with the alpacas and their wonderful owners, Laurie and her husband Eddie knew they wanted to be a part of this young and quickly growing industry.
However, there was one thing missing in all their visits to alpaca farms, and that was “time”.
Spending time at an alpaca farm and just being around alpacas is extremely rewarding. These tranquil, sweet-natured animals just seem to melt away our human emotions and stress. But most alpaca farm visits are just too short to gain a thorough understanding or relax entirely. Time is what Laurie and Eddie wanted to be able to give visitors and friends looking into alpaca ownership or those just wanting to experience the joys and rewards of life on an alpaca farm.
The Perfect Location Nestled in the Colorado Rockies
So Laurie and Eddie began looking for just the right area for their farm. They found the perfect location in Colorado City in the southern Colorado Rocky Mountains. The farm is set on 40 lush acres off a quiet county road just three miles from Interstate 25, providing the perfect location and plenty of room for the guest house. Guests can relax on the back deck and drink in the serenity of the alpacas just a few steps away. With views of Greenhorn Mountain, the San Isabel National Forest and Pikes Peak in the distance, moms, dads and children are in the perfect location to receive the unique “warm fuzzy” that only an alpaca can give.
